The Project

 

Each year, we plan to deliver 3000+ footballs to one location which demonstrates an evident need. Our first recipients of 3000+ footballs/soccer balls (with mini pumps with accessories) will be to (Bujumbura) the Republic of Burundi just south of the equator in the heart of Africa. Statistically speaking, Burundi has the lowest GDP on the planet. The Republic has been characterized as being small, densely populated, and landlocked. A 2003 cease-fire and new government offer hope for peace in this war torn region.

 

For 40 days following the one project (i.e. Bujumbura, Burundi in 2010), we will open the doors for any member of the public to persuade The COS Football Giveaway team to choose a particular location let us know why the area is right for our programme. Maybe you have contacts in the sports equipment industry for football donations, or could help us arrange transport to a target area. Do you know people “on-the-ground” in suitable locations? Let us know how we can all work together to make a difference.

 

We have experienced the transformative power of sport and are seeking to foster the development of ‘The COS Football Giveaway’ with your help. Any part of the project needs that you can help fulfil, will get us one step closer to completing the next project, and would be greatly appreciated. Together, we will make a difference. Two years from now, we hope that each piece of the puzzle (i.e. balls, transport cost of the container to ship the balls, etc.) will be donated from a member of society, thus, truly creating a sustainable network where everyone is contributing to the belief that ‘Active children enrich our world.’
